Davey Whitworth is a seasoned crewman on the World of Outlaws circuit with 20 years of racing experience. “I quit my real job in 1984 and have been a full time racer ever since,” said Whitworth. Davey’s love for racing began as a kid attending the local races. As he grew older he started working for some of the local teams and was later hired full time to work on a dirt late model. He later was hired by John Stevenson’s sprint car team, which opened a new door for Whitworth.
Whitworth cut his teeth in the World of Outlaws ranks when he was hired by Craig Cormack to wrench for Johnny Herrera and the 1BK sprinter. Over the years he has wrenched for high caliber drivers such as Joey Saldana, Tim Kaeding and Brian Brown. Whitworth spent the entire 2005 season working for Roth and was asked to stay on with Lasoski for 2006.
“I am pretty excited about this opportunity. I consider Danny to be one of the top two or three drivers in the country. I know he is revved-up and will be on a mission this year. For myself, I know this is the best shot at winning a Championship and a Knoxville Nationals crown. I’ve never won that race and it is no secret Danny is always a threat at Knoxville Raceway,” said Whitworth.
Favorite Part of the Job: The great feeling when we win races.
Worst Part of the Job: When the team is struggling. That makes things tough out here.

Steven Tiner has also joined the Roth Motorsports Team for the 2006 season. Growing up to become a fourth-generation sprint car driver, Steven is no stranger to racing. "Racing is in my blood. It all started with my Great-Grandfather and has continued throughout the family down to me. I began racing close to home and later raced with the Civil War Series and some 410 sprints around home. I later moved to Arkansas to race the ASCS Series initially for Shorty Chambliss before racing for Tim Crawley," said Tiner.
When the opportunity was presented to Steven to work for the Roth Motorsports Team, Tiner didn't hesitate. "The chance to work for a high profile team and a great driver like Danny Lasoski was a great opportunity for me. I already have a great friendship with Pockets (Paul Silvis) and had driven his car back in California, so I knew the chemistry would already be there. I know working for Danny, this team and the knowledge base that is here I can learn a lot both on and off the track. Aside from all that I will learn, being a part of a winning team is a lot of fun so I am looking forward to it," said Tiner.
Favorite Part of Job: Watching the racing itself and having the opportunity to learn more about all aspects of the sport.
Worst Part of Job: Not being able to drive the car myself.
