The Dude Struggles to Crack Top Ten in
Canadian Road Trip

By Bob Jones
August 15, 2007

You've heard it a thousand times...qualifying will often make or break your night on the World of Outlaws trail.  A bad lap will put you behind the eight ball with a big hole to dig out of.  Case in point, Danny Lasoski's weekend at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

The Roth Motorsports Team struggled to put down a solid qualifying lap as they timed in 23rd and 20th quick both nights.  Friday was a little more hairy as Lasoski missed his transfer spot by one in the Heat Race and was forced to run the B Main for only the third time in the last 40 events.  The Dude caught the last transfer spot in the A Main and charged from the 22nd starting spot to finish 10th.

Saturday's qualifying was similar but Lasoski transferred through the Heat Race by finishing fourth and lined up 20th on the A Main grid.  Another charge would put The Dude in 11th as the checkered flag waived.

Although Lasoski's Canadian weekend results weren't near as well as he'd hoped, good news is the Roth Motorsports Team is headed back to the Northwest were they caught fire last year.  "Last season we had a good stretch through the Northwest and down into California.  We won five races in about 12 days and gave us a boost to finish out the season strong.  I'm hoping we can put together another strong run like that this year as we head that way," said Lasoski.

Up next for Lasoski and the Roth Motorsports Team is a two day show at Skagit Speedway and then single night shows at Grays Harbor Raceway and Cottage Grove Speedway before heading back to California.  Stay tuned to www.dannylasoski.com for continued news and results.

Fast Facts--Did you know?

Danny Lasoski has won feature events at 99 different race tracks throughout his career.  A win this week at Skagit Speedway would be a milestone for Lasoski's career by cracking the century mark for races won on different race tracks.
