LASOSKI HAULS TO ILLINOIS ONLY TO GET RAINED OUT

5/16/2011

Inside Line Promotions – HIGGINSVILLE, Mo. (May 15) – Danny Lasoski had a lot of seat time last weekend, but it wasn’t in his sprint car.

The veteran drove almost five hours to the Midwest Open Wheel Association’s event at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill., on Friday before the race was rained out.

“We got hot laps in … just enough to get the car muddy,” Lasoski joked. “It didn’t even rain hard. It just drizzled enough. You couldn’t race like it like that.”

It was the second weekend this season that Lasoski made a long haul to a track only to be rained out before the competition started.

“It was going to be a great nice of racing,” he said. “You’re just danged if you do and danged if you don’t.”

More than 30 sprint cars were on hand before race was called.

Lasoski claimed the MOWA opener on April 23 at 34 Raceway in Burlington, Iowa.

He also planned on racing Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa – where he’s the winningest driver. However, that was also rained out.

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT – Michael Ross Foundation

The Michael Ross Foundation is operated by Tony and Kathy Ross, longtime friends of Lasoski. The Foundation was established in honor of the Ross’ son, Michael, who passed away in 1990 at age 5 from a rare genetic disorder known as Tay-Sachs disease. For more information, visit www.michaelrossfoundation.com.

“Tony Ross is more of my family,” Lasoski said. “He made it possible through Ditzfeld Transfer to get a truck to get me up and down the road. Tony has stuck with me and has been a part of my racing the past 20 years.”

Lasoski would also like to thank Creason Pipeline Services, Eagle Motorsports, Hoosier, Wertz Designs, Kistler Engines and Ditzfeld Transfer, Inc. for their continued support.
